ALOATEC, Supplier of a Fire Monitoring System for the Chernobyl Power Plant
ALOATEC, an innovative company based in Calais, supplies to BOUYGUES the thermography fire monitoring system for the confinement arch of the Chernobyl power plant.
Bouygues selected the aloa_DETECT Fire solution for automatic detection of hot spots and security under the arch soon to cover the old Reactor 4 sarcophagus of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
ALOATEC is supplying the complete solution including the software, the monitors and a dozen high-resolution digital thermal imaging cameras with their special protections.
The arch will shortly be in place and is currently being transported with eight of the dozen cameras soon to film the Chernobyl power plant.
The system with the last four cameras was received in Calais this week by a team from Bouygues.
At the heart of the system is the aloa_DETECT software designed by ALOATEC to meet needs of automatic detection of events for purposes of security, quality control and the environment. This is an innovative concept in information technology due to its potential uses in automated detection based on vision sensors in any digital or analogue format and thermography sensors, but also any type of sensor such as noise/sound, vibration and measurement.
The aloa_DETECT solution received the “innovation” trophy at MIDEST 2010 and the “innovation” prize at the Salon de l’Habitat in Calais in 2012.
Its uses are many and varied: fire detection, detection of overfilling of ammonia trucks, surveillance of gas flares, monitoring of breakouts in steel ladles, detection of visible pollution, etc.
ALOATEC, a company founded by Philippe Bourrier in 1998, is composed of six engineers with expertise in science and information technology. The applications developed cover the fields of security, the environment and quality control.
Its clients are mainly large enterprises in the industry, such as ARCELORMITTAL, THYSSEN, TOTAL, BOUYGUES, SIEMENS and BOREALIS, established in different countries: France, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and more recently Brazil, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
